March 18, 1965, Soviet carrier rocket "Soyuz" with double manned spacecraft "Voskhod-2" Pavel Ivanovich Belyaev and Alexei Leonov on board was successfully launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. Immediately after lifting into orbit the crew began to prepare for spacewalk. Belyaev helped to put Alexei Leonov satchel personal life support system with a reserve of oxygen, then filled the air lock chamber, pressed a button and the door connecting the cabin to the airlock opened. Leonov "swam" in the airlock. Had to do the last step ...
Belyaev transmitted to Earth: "A man went into space!"

During the flight, which lasted a little more than a day, cosmonaut Alexei Leonov went beyond the ship and stayed in the open space of 12 minutes 9 seconds. The aim of the experiment was to investigate the possibility of staying and working man in outer space, as well as test the suit "Berkut".
