The baptism of Poland refers to the ceremony when the first ruler of the Polish state, Mieszko I and much of his court, converted to the Christian religion. Mieszko's wife Dobrawa of Bohemia, a zealous Christian, played a significant role in promoting Christianity in Poland, and might have had significant influence on converting Mieszko himself.

Narodowy Bank Polski will issue 20 PLN collectors banknote commemorating this event depicting this couple and Gniezno Cathedral.

Block depicts painting painting of Jan Alojzy Matejko (also known as Jan Mateyko), Polish painter known for paintings of notable historical Polish political and military events.
