This year, a work of art from the Prince’s Palace collection has been selected to illustrate the theme of nudity in art. The painting chosen is a work by French painter Louis-Jean François Lagrenée the elder (1725–1805), titled Mercure qui enseigne la géographie à l’amour (Mercury teaching geography to love). This painting is exhibited in the State Apartments of the Palace of Monaco and was bequeathed by Colonel Henry-Adrien-Charles-Pierre Gibert de Lametz (1792–1880) to Prince Charles III, his nephew, in 1878.
