Pierre Mauroy  was a French Socialist politician who was Prime Minister of France from 1981 to 1984 under President François Mitterrand.





The Stade Pierre-Mauroy is a multi-use stadium in Villeneuve-d'Ascq, near Lille, France, that opened in August 2012. It is located in the Hôtel de Ville quarter of Villeneuve d'Ascq and is the home stadium of LOSC Lille Métropole. It was initially named Grand Stade Lille Métropole, and was renamed Stade Pierre Mauroy on 21 June 2013, just after the death of Pierre Mauroy who was also a Mayor of Lille (1973–2011).
