The wild Lovětínská ravine with exposed layers of Proterozoic gneiss became the motif chosen for the stamp. The left-hand side of the stamp design depicts the Lichnice Castle ruins. The right-hand side shows the beech forest on the hillside of the Krkaňka ridge with the landscape around the Doubrava river in the distance.

The Železné hory Protected Landscape Area, registered in 1991, contains several nature reserves and one national nature reserve called Lichnice-Kaňkovy hory, a significant site of Europe’s Natura 2000 system.
